Summer is here! Although it’s not in its full force just yet, Summer still means house parties, barbecues, and good vibes all around. Without a doubt, rocking the heat for a good three months without worrying about mother nature is one of the best feelings. Stepping out with the freshest kicks is also key. From a crisp pair of white on whites to mid-top animal prints and lightweight knitted runners, you can’t go wrong with this five-aside sneaker pick.
1. Nike Stefan Janoski Max. New Slate/ Mango
Part of the Nike Stefan Janoski Max Series, the deluxe one piece ‘New Slate’ blue mesh upper is woven in a camo style jacquard knit, dressed with a high contrast and explosive Atomic Mango swoosh. The matching ice white lace and outer sole combo combine with the Mango for a pair of shoes that really pop. This shoe is all about getting noticed and it’s in just in time for summer. For £90, you can get yourself a pair here.
2. Gourmet The 35 Lite SP. Blue Leopard/White
The retro cross-trainer-esque Gourmet 35 Lite is dressed in a blue leopard print for Spring/ Summer 2014. Suede built and EVA cushioned , you can never go wrong with these during those warm sunny days. The outsole of the shoe is constructed of durable rubber. The molded footbed provides comfort and stability. If you’re local to Coventry, these are available at the Kong store for although you can also get them on Gourmet Footwear’s online store. £70.80
3. Nike Air Huarache. All White
With most of the Nike Retro staple silhouettes out there it’s pretty easy to track down an all white pair. For whatever reason the Nike Air Huarache is an exclusion. But here it is, a white and pure platinum version of the sneakers that break from the OG build just a little bit on account of the mesh section utilized down on the toe-box and that dimpled leather that grabs the upper. Although I’m pretty sure several people have got these now but if you haven’t, don’t wait too long. Perfect for chilled out, sunny summer weekends. Available here for £124.99
4. Nike Roshe Run. Print Marble
For about £70, you can get your hands on this fresh ‘Marbles’ release before they land in the UK. The Nike Roshe Run has been spotted in marble mode before. But on the marbleized pairs of old, the zen sneaker in question had that look going on for its chunky outsole. This time around the marble takes place on the upper, which means that the more traditional mesh is tossed out for a sort of graphic nylon application. Available here if you can’t wait for the UK release.
5. Adidas ZX Flux
Another fresh release from Adidas for their Spring/Summer ZX Flux Collection. With styling inspired by the iconic mid-’80s ZX runner, these men’s shoes combine a ZX 8000 outsole with a sleek woven upper, tonal laces and a moulded heel cage. Available from the Adidas online store for £67, the ZXs compete with the Roshes but the decision is all up to you! Perfect to wear during those warm festival outings.
So there you have it. Five kicks that will be turning heads wherever you are this summer! What’s your take?
